The heterostructure is composed of few-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in the inner shell and few- and multi-walled boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) in the outer shell. Electron and phonon dynamics in CNT-BNNT heterostructure are monitored by ultrafast broadband transient absorption spectroscopy and ultrafast time-resolved electron diffraction (UED).
