Nanoparticle accumulation in the liver, lungs, spleen, kidneys, and heart was estimated by fluorescence associated with fluorescently labeled nanoparticles (TexasRed). Images of organs from a representative mouse per group (n = 4/group of 8-10 weeks-old C57BL/6 female mice), 3 h after injection with (a) LNP, (b) LNPi, and (c) coronated LNPi. d Quantification of the fluorescence associated with the observed organs, reported as total flux (photons/sec). The signal from non-treated mice (N.T.) is reported as a control. For each organ, statistical analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey’s multiple-comparison test. P-values < 0.05 are reported. Data are presented as mean values ± standard deviation. Source data are provided as a Source Data file.
