Differences between subtypes in accuracy, RT, and confidence for A Experiment 1 (Nsubj = 50), B Experiment 2 (Nsubj = 39), and C Experiment 3 (Nsubj = 40). Statistical testing was conducted using linear mixed-effect models where the effects of subtype and condition were fixed effects and subject was a random factor. For post-hoc analysis, first behavioral measures were averaged within a subject and a two-sided paired-samples t-test was used to determine significant differences. Averaging within a subject result in loss of power compared the mixed-effected model which was conducted at the trial level. Note that Experiment 3 contained only a single condition and confidence was not measured. Data are presented as mean values ± SEM.
