Editorial Expression of Concern to: Nature Communications https://doi.org/10.1038/ncomms3130, published online 15 August 2013
The Editors would like to alert the readers that concerns have been raised regarding the western blots presented in the Figures and Supplementary figures, specifically:
-
Fig. 1b Taxol Beclin-1 lanes 3-5 and Fig. S2a Etoposide NB4 Beclin-1 lanes 2-4 appear highly similar;
-
In Fig. 7c, the two Caspase-3 blots appear highly similar;
-
Fig. S2a Etoposide NB4 GAPDH lanes 1, 2 and 4 appear highly similar;
-
Fig. S4b Beclin 1 and Starvation Cyclin B1 blots appear highly similar.
The authors have provided the available original data and stated that some of the blots were incorrectly included in the figures. The full raw data is no longer available for validation due to the age of the article. Readers are therefore advised to interpret these data with caution.
Dipak Maskey, Shida Yousefi, Inti Zlobec, Aurel Perren and Hans-Uwe Simon agree to this Editorial Expression of Concern. The publisher has not been able to obtain a current email address for Inès Schmid. Robert Friis is deceased.
