(b) The internal CO2 concentration, ci, of upper and lower substomatal cavities, and the ci difference (upper minus lower) between them are plotted as functions of Δw = wsat - wa. Dotted line denotes zero difference between upper (adaxial) ci and lower (abaxial) ci. Photosynthetically active radiation was fixed at 1000 µmol m−2 s−1.
