RNA was isolated from the log-phase bacteria that had been cultured in LB broth, and then converted to cDNA. qRT-PCR was performed, and the data were normalized to expression of the internal housekeeping gene recA. The results are expressed as n-fold increases with respect to the control. Error bars represent the standard deviations from at least three independent experiments.
