  1. The first sample (D218O) was just stored in desiccator after experiment. The second (D218O + Heating) was heated at 190 °C. The third one (D218O + H2O) was subjected to H2O vapor at 100% RH for 2 weeks. One analysis was performed for each sample in the cross-section, on a 100 × 100 µm² area, covering the entire alteration layer
