Evolution of local strain distribution of (a) as-deposit, (b) HT-800 and (c) HT-1200 samples with and without hydrogen charging. Average values of the local strain distribution are shown for 4 selected holding points (at different tensile stages, explicating in (d1)). These points are illustrated in the tensile curve in (d1), corresponding to critical deformation stages: 1 near the yield strength, 2 middle of the uniform elongation, 3 approaching the ultimate tensile strength and 4 immediately before the fracture. The color -code strain scale was shown in (d2). x-axis is the horizontal position (tensile direction) along the sample in mm from left to right and y-axis is the corresponding x-strain values (calculated as the mean strain along the vertical direction at each horizontal position).
