All analysis are Spearman correlations. In A we display the association between performance on an attention test (WAIS-III Digit span, total score) and the proportion of cholinergic WMSA in the frontal lobe. In B we display the association between the performance on a memory test (FCSRT free and cued recall, total score) and the proportion of cholinergic WMSA in the temporal lobe. Prior to analysis, the cognitive tests were adjusted for age and education while the proportion of cholinergic WMSA in the frontal lobe and temporal lobes were adjusted for age. WMSA white matter signal abnormalities.
