Fig. 10: Kink correlations in simulation.

Simulation results for the kink correlation are shown for the GA Advantage2 system through relevant experimental parameters as a function of annealing time (top) and problem Hamiltonian rescaling (bottom). The peak value and position of the kink correlation curve grow larger with ta, and to a lesser extent with κ. The curves are well characterized by a kink density (determined by the Kibble-Zurek theory), and a phase-scrambling-length scale l, as described in section “Critical and post-critical dynamics of the transverse field Ising chain”; best fit values for l are shown. A two-length scale model predicts slightly smaller peak values than the simulation, but this discrepancy is consistent with corrections of order O(1/ξ, 1/L), and corrections vanish at larger scales as expected.
