See description for Fig. 3. The kink density (top) is weakly dependent on the calibration refinement; there is small suppression in the kink density. The kink-correlation with calibration refinement at ta/λ(κ) = 8 ns (center) has enhanced peak-height, consistent with reduced disorder. We can combine calibration refinement with the collapse method for ta/λ(κ) = 8 ns, whereby λ kink-density is matched for all κ shown (described “Methods—Experimental details—Experimental Advantage2 prototype methodology at a scale L = 232”). This further enhances the peak height, but agreement with the 1-parameter theory (best fit l/ξ shown) is less convincing (at this ta); one can also observe that the data is clustered rather than linearly spaced in κ, indicating the perturbative (linear) approach is inappropriate.
