Szenk et al.46 demonstrated the orthogonality of two negatively autoregulated lineariser gene circuits (TetR-mLin and PhlFd-mLin), where each repressor protein inhibits its own expression and the reporter protein, but addition of chemical inducers alleviates repression to yield GOI expression that responds linearly to the amount of inducer present in the system.
