Mice were vaccinated intramuscularly with Ov-103 and Ov-RAL-2 formulated with Advax-2 (red triangles) while the control mice received only Advax-2 (blue circles). Diffusion chambers containing challenge infections of 25 O. volvulus infective third-stage larvae were recovered one-week after implantation and larval survival was determined. Mean percent larval survival ± standard deviations are marked for each group. n values for each group are listed above each strain/line, while percent reduction in larval survival comparing vaccinated to controls is listed below each strain/line. *statistically significant, p ≤ 0.05, when comparing results from control mice to vaccinated mice within each strain/line.
