FRAP curves of Cy5-P, Cy5-S2 and Cy5-(AC)9 in (a) (RGG)5 and (b) (RGG)4 coacervates. Curves show that even though Cy5-S2 and Cy5(AC)9 RNAs have the same nucleotide number, their diffusion is markedly different. Indeed, Cy5-S2 diffusion is similar to Cy5-P diffusion, suggesting that both RNAs are able to interact with the longer E RNA. Apparent diffusion coefficients were derived from individual tracesCy5-S2 curves were forced to reach complete recovery, (AC)9 has a free parameter for maximal recovery. Data is shown as the mean of n individual determinations; shaded areas represent 95% CI intervals.
