The in situ trends in b are based on sites that have more than seven years of data. Supplementary Fig. 2 shows the uncertainty in upscaled NEE and the significance of the trends. While the average upscaled NEE values go up to 116 g C m−2 yr−1, most of the values are below 60 g C m−2 yr−1.
