  1. Values are given as median [25th percentile‒75th percentile], instead of the mean in Table 1. The extremely low values for total Chl and total primary production (intentionally kept in the same units as those in Table 1) highlight how a few major IMEs (visible in Fig. 1) are responsible for most of the large-scale impacts on Chl and primary production.
