The points with RLI values above 0.78 were indicated in red to underline the change in behaviour. b, The pollen records were binned according to the RLI into 8 groups of 198 records, and PSD1000–3000 years was calculated from the average of their spectra (blue). A ninth distinct group comprising the 158 records belonging to areas where the RLI was above 0.78 was considered (red). The correlation given (blue) does not include the ninth group since it is an outlier as discussed in the manuscript and methods. c, Map of the RLI for grid boxes containing pollen records. The grid boxes with RLI > 0.78 are marked with red crosses in order to highlight the regions in the ninth bin.
