The results with different detrending methods before computing the power spectra are compared: d,g,j without detrending, e,h,k with linear detrending and f,i,l with a 23-kyr sinusoidal detrending. The same colour scale, using logarithmic spacing, is used for all maps. The model simulations generally show 10–100 times less variability than the reconstructions.
