  1. The four CMIP6 models and their SSP245 single and all forcing simulations and ensemble(s) used in the current study. For CanESM5 SSP245 simulation, there are 25 ensembles with net surface heat flux and meridional overturning circulation data available in the CMIP6 archive but only 10 ensembles r(1–10)i1p1f1 with ocean temperature data available for the calculation of ocean heat content. So only the ensembles r(1–10)i1p1f1 are used.
