Reference data of a, the fraction of lightning fires of the total fire count, and b, the fraction of burned area from lightning of the total burned area. Data was available for seven different world regions: the United States of America (USA) including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, Portugal, Southern France, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Russia and the states of Victoria and Tasmania in Australia.
