Normalized mean biases (NMBs, %) and Pearson correlation coefficients (r) between observed and simulated annual mean values are listed for sulfate (SO42−), nitrate (NO3−), nitric acid (HNO3), ammonium (NH4+), ammonia (NH3), molar fraction of NO3− in total nitrate (\({\varepsilon }_{{{\rm{NO}}}_{3}^{-}}\)), and molar fraction of NH4+ in total ammonium (\({\varepsilon }_{{{\rm{NH}}}_{4}^{+}})\). Performance of chemical transport models from references (refs. 13,14,15,16,66) are included for comparison.
