a, Locations of substituted residues are shown in the context of the R1-32 epitope, loop-R indicates replacement of SARS-CoV-2 ACE2 binding loop (474-486) to the corresponding SARS-CoV-1 residues (461-472). b, Binding of R1-32 to 24 substituted RBDs were assayed by BLI and compared to the wild-type (WT) RBD. Assays were carried out at a fixed RBD concentration of 200 nM. Kinetic parameters are summarized in Supplementary Table 6, fold changes of KD values were normalized to WT on a 2n scale (the last panel).
