Extended Data Fig. 9: Contact-mode TERS measurements of 1a-EBPP on Au(111).
From: Polaron superlattices in n-doped single conjugated polymers
a, STM image of the 1a-EBPP polymer on Au(111). Imaging parameters: Vs = 0.1 V, It = 500 pA. b,d, Seven TERS spectra continuously taken with the contact-mode at the bridge bonds along the 1a-EBPP, showing the almost constant peak positions of 2002 and 860 cm−1. The spectra were taken at the labelled site in a. c,e, Waterfall plots for the TERS spectra from sites 1−7 as a function of tip height, showing the enhanced Raman peak intensities at approximately 2002 and 860 cm−1 during tip approaching. The tip height was with respect to the initial setpoint conditions of Vs = 0.1 V and It = 50 nA. Excitation light: 532 nm and 1.3 mW. The CCD spectrometer integration time was 20 s. Grating: 600 grooves/mm. Step distance: 10 pm.
