Difference (absolute Z-score values) between experimental data at E8.5 and simulations in units of standard deviations of the experimental data separately for each cell shape descriptor (defined in Table S3) across the (\({{{\bar{\mathrm \Lambda }}}}\),\({{{\bar{\mathrm \Gamma }}}}\)) parameter space (see Methods). Low values indicate good agreement between simulation and experimental estimates. The dashed lines correspond to ϕ = 0.3 and delineate regions A, B and C (see Fig. 3A).
