Values in parentheses show the range of CIEs from the literature21,48,49,50,53,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73 and the value in bold is the size of CIE used in Fig. 2. Event nomenclature follows references given in the Methods, depths (rmcd, revised metres composite depth) use the revised depth splice published previously33 and the ages use the age model from a previous study32.
