In our original article, we used laboratory flume experiments to demonstrate the effects of grain shape on bed load sediment transport. It has been brought to our attention that the paper did not include a comparison of the width-to-depth ratio of our flume experiments (approximately 0.1) with width-to-depth ratios of rivers in nature (typically >1). While this does not affect the results or conclusions in our paper, we note that it will be useful to test the grain shape theory presented in our paper in wide channels.
