a, Control BLI experiments showing that CA hexamer binds the established Nup153 and CPSF6 FG peptides. The CA-N57A mutant abolishes CPSF6 binding. Analyte concentrations of the dilution series are indicated. b, BLI-negative controls: Representative of FG probes, Nup58523–589 does not interact non-specifically with the analyte, as shown with importin α, which is not known to interact directly with FG peptides. Conversely, CA hexamers do not interact non-specifically with unrelated ligands, as shown with a Nesprin21423–1745 fragment.
