  1. Of the possibilities considered, only the congruent CDW phase exhibits the required piezo-magnetism in the absence of macroscopic magnetization. Note that the combination of order parameter \({L}_{1}={L}_{2}\ne {L}_{3}\) and \({\varPhi }_{1}={-\varPhi }_{2}\ne {\varPhi }_{3}\) with \({\varPhi }_{3}\ne 0\) reduces the symmetry down to monoclinic P2/m, where none of the order parameters components remain equal.
