Delivery efficiencies of a λ cosmid harboring P2-STF chimera and gpJ variant A8 (orange lines) or 1A2 (blue lines). Cosmids package a DNA payload encoding sfGFP and delivery into E. coli was measured by flow cytometry (excitation: 488 nm, emission: 530/30 BP). The multiple sequence alignment of the tested OmpC variants is provided in Supplementary Data 10. A phylogenetic tree is provided in Supplementary Fig. 1.
