Colours of types (nodes) indicate membership in flat clusters of Fig. 2c. The node size encodes the number of drawn connections, so that hub types look larger. The node shape encodes type numerosity (number of cells). The line colour encodes the relationship (top input versus top output) and the line width is proportional to the number of synapses. The line arrowhead shapes encode excitation (excit.) versus inhibition (inhib.). Further explanation is provided in the Methods.
