The vertical position and uncertainty of each SLIP was calculated using correction steps for background subsidence, palaeotidal changes and compaction. Calculation of calibrated age and uncertainty (horizontal axis) included a Bayesian step. The curves and dashed envelopes show the rates when excluding one or all of the steps, besides the all-inclusive run (black line, pink envelope; as in main text). Each correction step has impact, but even without any correction the double peak in the rates remains.
