Each ecological indicator tracks the Earth-system status of its respective planetary boundary (green line) in percentage terms, for which zero indicates no overshoot, and ranging from its pre-industrial Holocene baseline (*) to an unbounded upper extent of overshoot. See Table 2 for further details on the indicators and Supplementary Data for numerical results, including full statistical details estimated using ordinary least squares regression with two-sided hypothesis tests (that is, estimates, robust standard errors, adjusted-R2 and P-values).
