Yield of peptidyl-RNA 40 and 42 from the reaction of aminoacyl-RNA 17 or 41 with thioacid 11 (100–300 mM) and K3Fe(CN)6 (3 equiv.) in MES buffer (0.5–1.0 M, pD 6.0) at room temperature. All aminoacyl-RNAs were formed from their respective nucleoside (A, C, U = 20 mM, G = 2 mM) and thioester 1 (200 mM) or cyclic arginine 33 (80 mM) and peptide synthesis implemented in situ, without isolation or any purification. *≈7:1 ε-NH2/ε-NHGlyAc. pD 6.5.
