(a) Vertical bars indicate the number of isolates per year. The number (n) of strains isolated in each country is shown. Six distant outlier strains in the phylogenetic tree and 7 strains from the Faroe Islands are not shown. Thus, the number of strains does not sum to the total sample of 2,101 strains. No strains belonging to subclade SC2A or SC2B were isolated in Iceland. (b) Total number of strains belonging to each individual subclade per country.
