Box plots centers, boundaries and whiskers represent the median, the 25th and 75th percentiles and the minimum and maximum values within box boundaries + 1.5× the interquartile range, respectively. Statistical significance was determined using a homoscedastic two-tailed t-test (P = 1.7 × 10−8).
