  1. Elevation values were obtained as the mean of all ground control point (GCP) elevation values of the corresponding site (rounded to the nearest ten). Mean annual climate parameters for the period 1981–2010 were retrieved from DWD Climate Data Center35,36. MAP = Mean annual precipitation height; MAT = Mean annual temperature. Grassland type and species richness were obtained by a species inventory in 2020 (see below).
