(b and c) (2nd column) depict the morphologically postprocessed output. Finally, c and f (3rd column) show the difference between the input and output volumes. The upper row shows an example where the changes introduced by the post-processing consist mainly of small voxel alterations of the surface of a thin metal sheet. The bottom row depicts the changes close to the surface of the orange metal sheet located at the bottom of the upper row of images. This metal sheet appears to be quite noisy and therefore prone to the more pronounced changes visible in the residual Fig. 9f.
