Differential expression of genes for immunity, metabolism, and other cellular functions in the liver of Nod2 −/− mice on HFD. Heatmap representation of the fold increase (red) or decrease (green) for gene expression in the adipose tissue of Nod2 −/− HFD mice compared with WT HFD mice. The genes are grouped based on function or pathway. The fold ratio for individual Nod2 −/− HFD mice to the average of WT HFD mice was computed and is shown (lanes 1 to 6) with the average of the fold for all Nod2 −/− HFD mice. Genes that had a fold change of ≥2 or ≤0.5 (≤−2) and P ≤ 0.05 with 5% FDR are included in the heatmap. N = 6 mice/group. The numerical data for fold increase in individual mice, the average, P value, and FDR are shown in Supplementary Table S2.
