Brain MRI of a boy with SNHL and his CAP score change after CI. (a) At 15 months of age, with multiple and diffuse increased white matter T2 signals in the periventricular regions. (b) At 4 years of age, only focal high-signal lesions are seen in the periventricular white matter. (c) After implantation, the boy’s CAP score steadily improved and reached its highest level after 12 months, equalling that of the group without brain lesions; however, at 3 and 6 months after CI, he had a lower score than that of the group without brain lesions.
