Effect of Andrographolide (ANDRO) on hepatic fibrogenic proteins. Total proteins were isolated from livers of mice fed either a choline-deficient amino acid-defined (CDAA) or choline-supplemented L-amino acid defined (CSAA) diets treated or not with ANDRO, as described in material and methods. (A) Representative Western blot analysis of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), collagen type I, alpha 1 chain (COL1A1) and collagen IV (Col IV). Tubulin (Tub) was used as loading control. Densitometric analysis of CTGF (B), COL1A1 (C) and Collagen IV (D) is shown in the graphs (n = 3–4 animals per group). Statistical significance was evaluated using ANOVA with a post-hoc Bonferroni multiple-comparison test (**p ≤ 0.01 and ***p ≤ 0.001).
