From: Taxanes and platinum derivatives impair Schwann cells via distinct mechanisms

Viability of Schwann cells after exposure to paclitaxel, cisplatin or oxaliplatin. At 2 days after culture in differentiation medium, Schwann cells were treated with vehicle (0.1% DMSO), paclitaxel (a,d; 0.001–0.1 μM), cisplatin (b,e; 0.1–10 μM) or oxaliplatin (c,f; 0.1–10 μM) for 24 h (a–c) or 48 h (d–f). Cell viability was measured in an MTT assay, and the results were expressed as a percentage relative to vehicle-treated cells. Each column represents the mean ± S.E.M. n = 3–6. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, and ***p < 0.001 vs. the vehicle-treated group.
