From: Invasive trophoblast promote stromal fibroblast decidualization via Profilin 1 and ALOX5
EVT-decidual-immune cell interaction. EVT-HESC synchrony and cross-talk is critical for implantation during early pregnancy. Decidualized HESC factors promote EVT secretion of profilin 1, which acts to promote stromal cell decidualization via the down-regulation of ALOX5. EVT-secreted profilin 1 also down-regulates ALOX5 in macrophages where it likely regulates cytokine production.
