(a) 3D WS-bSSFP in vivo representative images and (b) representative 2D pictures of the median region of the ex vivo Micro-CT 3D reconstructed femoral condyles, 1, 3 and 5 weeks after implantation of Matrix-Fuco, Matrix-HA, and Matrix-HA-Fuco matrices (arrows). The number of samples used for both techniques is indicated in Tables 1 and 2, respectively. The MRI signal from defects filled with Matrix-HA and Matrix-HA-Fuco disappeared 5 weeks after implantation. At week 5, mineralization was visible within the defect site for these latter conditions. Scale bar represents 1 cm.
