The effect of NTP on cell cycle and wound healing activities of confluent human keratinocytes. (a) Confluent HaCaT cells were treated with gas only (GO) or NTP for 5 minutes as indicated. After 6 hours of incubation, the cells were harvested and used for a FACS assay with PI. The percentage of cells in each of the cell cycle phases was calculated as described in the Methods section. Data shown are the averaged percentages from four independent experiments, *p < 0.05. (b) The results of the wound healing assay using human primary keratinocytes, HEKa. Five days after seeding, a scratch was made on each culture dish and the cells were treated, or not, with NTP for 5 minutes. Photographs of the scratch were taken at just before and 24 hours after the NTP treatment. Scale bar: 200 μm. The gap distance were calculated and presented as graph. Data shown are the averaged percentages from four independent experiments, *p < 0.001.
