From: Discovery of monoclonal antibodies cross-reactive to novel subserotypes of K. pneumoniae O3

1H-NMR spectra and structures of O-specific polysaccharides isolated from K. pneumoniae Kp81 (a), PCM-11 (b), and 5505Δcps (c). The 1H-NMR spectrum was obtained for a D2O solution at 600 MHz (25 °C). The Arabic numerals refer to protons in the respective residues. Letters with a prime sign denote residues of terminal units of each O-PS. O-PS RUs are marked off by brackets. Methyl phosphate (MeP) group represents modification at the non-reducing end of the O-specific polysaccharide. The negative-ion mode MALDI-TOF mass spectra of O-PSs showing mass differences between O-PS ions indicating tri-, tetra-, and pentasaccharide RU of Kp81, PCM-11 and 5505Δcps, respectively (right panels).
