Expression of TGF-β isoforms and receptors in corneal endothelium of patients with FECD. (a–d) Descemet’s membranes with CECs were obtained from 30 patients with FECD during Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). Thirty human donor corneas from non-FECD subject were used as control. Expression levels of TGF-β1, TGF-β2, TGFβR1, and TGFβR2 were evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR. GAPDH was used as an internal standard. The horizontal lines in the boxes indicate medians, the bottom of each box indicates the 25th percentile, and the top of each box indicates the 75th percentile. The horizontal lines outside the boxes indicate the range of mRNA level. The statistical analysis was performed by Mann–Whitney U test. *P < 0.01.
