Dependence on pollinators and plant survival. Heatmaps showing the variation in plant survival probability according to plant dependence on pollinators through the cascade of extinction events under the three simulated scenarios with our full model: random extinctions, extinctions from the most to the least generalist species, and extinctions from the least to the most generalist species. In each matrix plant species (rows) were ranked by decreasing dependence on pollinators (IPD). As the extinction cascade goes on plant survival probabilities decrease, but plants with low dependencies on pollinators to set seeds (IPD → 0) tend to be more persistent that plants with a high dependence (IPD → 1) on pollinators.
