From: Enhanced sensing and conversion of ultrasonic Rayleigh waves by elastic metasurfaces

The experimental set-up consisting of a laser interferometer scanning the surface of the metawedge and the aluminium block mounted on a moving stage. The excitation is obtained with an ultrasonic transducer coupled with a 65° wedge that, by phase matching, filters out all incident waves except Rayleigh waves. The resonators have a 0.5 × 0.5-mm cross-section and an increasing (or decreasing) height from 0.5-mm to 3-mm and have been obtained by micro-milling of the surface.
