Dose-dependent regulation of inflammatory genes in the intestine upon exposure to FX. Dose-responses for the FX regulatory gene expression levels in the pig intestine. Jejunal explants from 6 piglets were exposed for 4 hours to graded levels of the trichothecene mycotoxin FX. The mRNA expression levels of NF-κB, CSF2, CXCL2, TNFAIP3, TNF-α, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-8, IL-17A and IL-22 were measured by quantitative RT-PCR and analyzed using the REST© 2009 software (Qiagen, Valencia, CA, USA). β2-Microglobulin and RPL-32 were used as the internal references. The data are the mean ± SEM (n = 6 animals). The symbols *, **, and *** indicate significant differences in gene expression ratios for the treated conditions compared to the control conditions (p < 0.05, p < 0.01, and p < 0.001, respectively).
