From: ADAMTS-13 regulates neutrophil recruitment in a mouse model of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis
Killing of A. fumigatus conidia or hyphae is not diminished in PMN from Adamts13 −/− mice. Killing of A. fumigatus in vitro by PMN (106 cells/ml) was assessed by modified XTT assay. After 4 h co-culture with conidia (3 × 103/ml) (A) or conidia (3 × 103/ml) germinated for 16 h (B), PMN were lysed and conidia were grown for further 16 h. The viability of hyphae was determined using a colorimetric XTT assay. Depicted is the mean plus SD of one representative experiment performed in triplicates out of two. (*) indicates a significant difference (p < 0.05) by one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni’s posttest.
